The India Rural Colloquy was born out of a simple belief – rural India must be at the center of our national imagination and not just in theory, but in practice. Over the past five years, the Colloquy has grown into a unique platform that nurtures open conversations, sparks unusual collaborations, and connects lived experiences with systemic reform.
From tribal heartlands to government corridors, from grassroots organizers to institutional leaders, the Colloquy is where diverse worlds meet, listen, and act.
Whether you are working in a village or researching in a university, whether you bring funding,
ideas or questions, there is space for you at the India Rural Colloquy.
Come be part of the conversation that could shape the next chapter of rural India.
We choose to host this exciting confluence during the Quit India Movement week. During August Kranti back in 1942 India decided to rise up in a peaceful movement to force the British to quit their rule of India. This monumental week echoes the quest of gaining dignity for all.
So the India Rural Colloquy draws inspiration from this mass movement. Because today India cannot truly progress as a world leader if it leaves two-thirds of its people – who live in its rural heartlands – behind. We want to join forces with those who are passionate about ensuring everyone, even the most marginalized, is free to access all opportunities so we can all become better versions of ourselves. We believe a rural renaissance is possible. And we want YOU to join us in exploring
how we can make it happen.
Join the movement dedicated to empowering rural
communities and building a stronger India. Sign up for
our sessions (soon to be announced), so you can be part
of the change.
