Soledad Artiz Prillaman is an Assistant Professor of Political Science at Stanford University. Her research focuses on comparative political economy, development, and gender, with a particular emphasis on South Asia. Prillaman investigates the political implications of development policies, especially regarding women's political behavior and democratic representation. Her work also explores the persistence of inequalities in political engagement and the translation of voter demands into governance. Employing a mix of field experiments, surveys, and qualitative fieldwork, Prillaman brings diverse methodologies to her research. She earned her Ph.D. from Harvard University in 2017 and holds a BA in Political Science and Economics from Texas A&M University (2011).
