Dr. Saggurti is a public health researcher with over 20 years of experience in HIV prevention, reducing sexual and gender-based violence, and improving maternal and child health for marginalized women in India. At Population Council, he led groundbreaking research on migration and HIV, influencing national HIV strategies. He also contributed to international policy debates on preventing spousal transmission of HIV. Before joining the Council in 2006, he was an assistant professor at the International Institute for Population Sciences. Mr. Saggurti has served as a scientific reviewer and editorial board member for several international journals. He holds an MS in statistics, a Master’s and PhD in population studies.
