Manoj Kumar Pingua is an IAS officer of the 1994 batch from the Chhattisgarh cadre. He currently serves as the Additional Chief Secretary for Home, Jail, Health, and Family Welfare departments in the Chhattisgarh government. Born on August 21, 1969, in Delhi, Pingua has a diverse educational background. He holds a B.Sc. in Botany, an M.Sc. in Anthropology, and an Executive Master's in Public Administration from Syracuse University. He began his service as a District Collector in multiple districts, including Janjgir-Champa, Dhamtari, and Surguja. Pingua's career progression led him to the position of Divisional Commissioner of Bastar, followed by several key roles within the Chhattisgarh government. His portfolio has included serving as Secretary to the Government of Chhattisgarh for departments such as General Administration and Tribal Development. Pingua has also worked with the central government. He had deputations to the Ministry of Tribal Affairs and the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, broadening his expertise in national-level policy-making and implementation. Prior to his current role, Pingua held the position of Additional Chief Secretary for Health & Family Welfare and Medical Education. His current responsibilities encompass crucial areas of state administration, including home affairs, jail management, and health services.
