Ms. Aarti Kumar is currently serving as the CEO of the Community Empowerment Lab. She pursued a Bachelor’s degree in engineering from Singapore and a Master’s degree in Bioinformatics. After a 10-year stint in Singapore, she moved to rural Uttar Pradesh in 2006 to conduct immersive community-based research. She integrated scientific methods with cultural wisdom to improve newborn and maternal survival and early child development, founding the Community Empowerment Lab to institutionalize their mission. Her past roles include Director of Informatics & Research Analytics at The INCLEN Trust International, Research Consultant at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, Project Officer at Nanyang Technological University, and Business Systems Analyst at Hewlett-Packard.
